This year is different....

Because my goals are not physically oriented. My main goal this month is to study rest, implement some new routines into my evenings and give myself some nourishing rest.


My top three tips for getting consistently good sleep

  • Go to bed and wake at the same time, most days

  • Limit screen time in the bedroom

  • Include physical activity in your day (I know I'm going on about rest here - but our bodies do need some where to put its energy!)

BUT - sometimes starting a new routine, especially one at the END of the day when we have the least energy to make change, is really hard. So if you find yourself tossing and turning, take a listen to my SHORT meditation for when you can't sleep.


For a time my husband and I lived with my in-laws. My mother in law saw me stressing about sleep (which has been an issue at different times in my life) and offered my this

"When I can't fall asleep but know I don't have to get up soon, I just relax back into my warm bed." I believe she might have been more eloquent than that, but hopefully you get the gist. I took that advice and never looked back. So, maybe this advice will help you relax back into the covers when you find yourself Sleepless in (insert your city here).
